My name is Leah Ballard, aka. Clippyclue! I chose this persona to represent my design because it was my childhood nickname given to me by my family. Choosing this name to represent my work speaks to the approach I take in design and life itself. My goal is to combine a loving, joyful approach to design with the values of professionalism and attention to detail.
My journey in design began with a realization sitting in Calculus I in 2019. While I have always excelled academically, I was faced with a roadblock when taking high-level math courses. Studying for a major in Computer Science was no longer something I enjoyed. I was preparing myself to code the back end of websites and software, when ultimately, I wanted to develop the front-end of the digital realm. Four years later, I graduated from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. Today, I find myself immersed in bold colors, fun illustrations and graphics, and HTML & CSS code. I enjoy handcrafting digital elements to serve and support individuals and their brands. I am grateful for the path I have taken, and lessons learned along the way. I look forward to further expanding my knowledge and skills in this dynamic industry.
