My goal with this fifteen page booklet was to study April Greiman's influence in the graphic design industry and to design in a manner similar to hers. This project began with extensive informational and visual research which were then arranged into an essay. Within this essay I selected five works by Greiman that support and explain her influence. Each spread's content and design are dedicated to one of these five pieces.
A few key things I kept in mind while designing this booklet are pixelation, layering, distortion, and bold color. All of these design elements are crucial to Greiman's signature style. I also utilized paragraph and character styles to reflect Greiman's contributions to the industry. A pixelated typeface is used throughout the body text hinting at April Greiman's efforts in normalizing computers, specifically Macintosh, as a design tool in the late eighties.
